Happy New Year

I wish you a happy and joyful year 2012 !

May it be full of fan-tastic events with and for our now officially certified
"King of Hearts", King Richard Armitage !
(Certificate, 'found' and posted by Lynn Roberts on Facebook.)

Last year's New Year's message ;o) (Sorry to repeat myself, but I just can't get enough of RA's Christmas messages and had to smuggle in the link on RichardArmitageOnline.com to all his messages somehow ;o)

Christmas Message

As last year, I copy in the lovely Christmas message by Richard Armitage here. (I still did not figure out, how I could link to the message directly on RichardArmitageOnline.com)

Dear All,

So my feet are finally on UK soil, back in Blighty, nose to tail traffic and the usual Heathrow drizzle. But it's good to be home for Christmas. I think the jet lag might give me a sneaky glimpse of Santa this year as I am wide awake at 2am!

It's been one of the most memorable years I have ever experienced, the big birthday (which I tried to ignore, by sleeping through it!) and the privilege to be in NZ working on The Hobbit has make this year unforgettable. The places we have been to and the things we have seen, have surpassed all my expectations. I was very choked up as the plane left Wellington on Weds, it really has become home and to all my new friends there and my old friends here I would like to raise a glass for the festive season.

Thank you for the continuing support which you all lend as part of our community of 'friends', it really has an impact on me personally, I feel very much supported and I hope that waiting for the film isn't too frustrating. I haven't quite had the time to attend to all the signed photos that people were requesting as Christmas gifts for family and friends and I apologise for dissappointing them, I will get on the case as soon as I can.

I think next year will be like that last turn of the corner when you think you have reached the summit, only to find you are miles from the top and the climb is even steeper, but we are gearing up for an exciting ride. I even might step off the treadmill and put my dumb bells down briefly to scoff some turkey on 25th!!

Thank you all for the continued generosity on the Just Giving pages which in total comes to more than £14,000.

I would like to say Happy Christmas to everyone who drops in to catch up on the news and further across our online 'party' of friends, have a great holiday, and a cracking New Year. Just think this time next year, we'll all be crossed eyed from all the 3D movies we will have watched, and by 2013, technology will have advanced so much, we won't even have to go the the cinema, it will be transmitted directly into our imagination by a WIFI/Bluetooth microchip which we will have all had installed into our Hypothalamusesl! (Hypothalami?)

 Enjoy the typos!

Peace and goodwill (and I really mean that, be willingly good, extra good, extra peaceful and extra forgiving)

Have lovely and enjoyable Christmas days, wonderful food, good company and friends around you and hope and joy in your heart!

My Christmas Wish

I found this picture some time ago, shortly after Christmas last year. And whereas last year, it was quite clear to me, who this 'Him' is, it is not so clear any longer.

You will ask, "What, CDoart does betray her dream man?"
No, I don't, not really. He still is the one and only for me ;o)

Edited - Source: RichardArmitageNet.com
For me this 'Him' is certainly RA, but in what form?

* As himself, (oh no, he would have quite great objections to that, so, reluctantly, no ;o)

* as Lucas North no longer is an option (perhaps as Al Delarmy ;o)

* as Thorin Oakenshield (not overly much, as one does not see too much of him, but when he sings that certainly is of no importance any longer and the intensity of his eyes alone mesmerizes the audience (certainly me ;o)
His acting even in the short snippets and the fulminant trailer revealed so far, show his great talent and an intense aura and let expect really great things.)

* as King Richard III (Oh yes, most definitely and without any doubt ;o) King Richard, as far as we know, did not even have a beard. We would really see RA in that role and I am sure we could smuggle in the one or other song for him ;o)

Fortunately, Santa decides, which wishes he grants or as we here in Bavaria would say, which our 'Christkindl' grants. (We don't have Santa.)
So Christkind, I leave it up to you, what you think might be the right present for me. Thank you!

I wish you, my supportive and wonderful readers, a joyous and merry Christmas time and enjoyable holidays!

P.S.: On bccmee's blog I mentioned that I had very strange feelings when I first heard RA sing in the new "The Hobbit" trailer released on December 21st, 2011. Yes, indeed they were strange, as I had the immediate feeling, that I want my husband to sing in that way to our child in the crib. (This immediate association is especially strange, as two requirements for this feeling are missing in my life ;o)

A Year Comes to its End ...

As with every year, I take account of the passed year and try to start a new one with new plans and a fresh impulse.
Source: RichardArmitageNet.com

The last year, as I have revealed on various occasions, was not an easy way for me. So I really hope for a new and better year to come. But what lately revealed itself was, that the negative developments were after all positive. It is only the perspective and being in the chaos at the moment, that made them bad, but the overall picture now more and more reveals them as a life saving catastrophe ;o)

The new year especially holds promise, as it makes my b-day more nonsensical than it already is ;o) So I hope for a really funny year to come ;o)

The one thing of this past year I would never want to miss or change and would like to re-live over and over again, is my fandom for Richard Armitage.
It showed me, that there is more to life than struggles and problems, but a wonderful community of friends and supportive co-fans! Thank you for being there and enduring my struggles with coming to terms with fandom and life !

I had a very

this year with

Wonderful Presents:

Swoon-worthy Guy of Gisborne created by bccmee (Train your memory and don't miss the video!)
And have a closer look, under what banner Guy of Gisborne is hiding in bccmee's game!

Source: "Robin Hood III", ep. no. 10 "Bad Blood"
I am never sure who is falling in this film sequence, Guy of Gisborne or I.
I would like to be able to fall like this. The last time I fell, I spent one week in hospital ;o) (Don't worry, was a long time ago, but since then a fear of falling remains.)
Perhaps that is a further reason, why I absolutely adore his elegant way of falling and showing that his body loses control.

Bccmee and our anonymous fan-artist of this post on KingRichardArmitage know me very well ;o)
See what our fan-artist has done for my birthday !!! (Happy sigh...)

My resolution for the coming year:

I will continue my work to support a filming of "King Richard III". I hope that project will work out as it would be a dream come true for me.

I will continue with "Intrigue". I promise I won't leave you hanging as I currently did with Al Delarmy, dumping him in a hotel in Hamburg (he deserved it a bit for playing with his author ;o)
I am already working on further parts of the story, but need a few more quiet days to really get ahead with my writing down the story swirling around in my head.
Al is a bit unruly and intriguing himself and does not leave me in peace, so you can rest assured, that I will come back to him, my secret love full of mystery  ;o)

Are We Fan-Bloggers the Minstrels of Modern Times?

For some time now I wonder, if the Medieval minstrels and the art of minnesong has quite some similarities to fan-blogging, especially RA-fan-blogging of our times.

Abaelard and Eloise (by Edmund Blair Leighton, 1882)
Source: wikimedia.org
Some special signs of Medieval minnesongs were:

* that the singer had no chance of gaining the direct favour / love of his admired woman.

* that the woman was beyond reach and his own station.
(It was even a requirement to search for an admirable woman well beyond one's own station.)

* that the woman was good and had admirable qualities (at least after the minstrel searched long and wide for them or created and invented them himself. [No comparison to RA-fan-blogging in the later case, as here the admired qualities quite obviously exist for real!]).

* that the minstrel defended and advertised the good qualities of his chosen lady.

* that the lady was most important, who had the most minstrels singing her praise. (Quite obviously a strong element in fan-votings, when even illegal methods are used to enhance the number of votes to show the importance of the admired 'star'.)

* that the minstrel polished and enhanced his art and artfulness by describing the qualities of a certain lady. (Who in my opinion sometimes even took second place compared to the art itself.)

* that the minnesongs were created to form one's own character and develop genteel ways of behaviour and to strengthen the ability to observe and find human qualities. This technique to better one's character and judgment was especially encouraged in lawyers and diplomats, so you see, in branches were truthfulness was not that important [No or indeed pun intended, but only at the right places and not regarding RA-fans or fan-bloggers ;o)].

Quite obviously beyond my station ;o)
Source:
(Captain America Premiere, New York 2011)

The only evident difference I see between Medieval minstrels and modern fan-bloggers is, that most (or all?) known minstrels were male and it was an especial recommendation for men, to practice this art of character building and self-enhancement. (Women were generally thought not to need such refinement ;o)
Today's fan-bloggers, especially in the RA-world (which is the only one I know ;o) are (mostly or all?)  female.

Please share with me, what you think about modern fandom and female self-betterment by being a RA-fan ;o)
I am quite eager to learn, how you see this comparison and modern fandom.

P.S.: I know that Abaelard and Eloise are not the right example for platonic love, but at least, Abaelard wrote a lot of love poetry for his adored Eloise, so I hope you might forgive me for my lapse and rudimentary memory of my former studies ;o)

Happy Thanksgiving

I can hardly top last years Thanksgiving-post, when it comes to my favourite picture of RA.

So I will link to that post and wish you all a happy and joyous Thanksgiving !!!

My own thanks this day go to my computers and websites. I thank them for all the problems they made and all the havoc they caused.
You will say, now CDoart completely went cRAzy ;o) and in quite some aspects you might be right, but if (I won't and can't share the details) you would know, what ill fate I evaded by not getting my will and being able to finish my work in the planned timeframe, I only can thank the almighty powers, ruling the universe and my fate, for their lenience.
How can such bad events turn out to be the best thing which possibly could have happened? But they were exactly that, with unerring accurateness and attention to even the minor details.
I hope I will be worthy of the effort and will be able to defend and spread the knowledge which was so gracefully saved.

Thank you, for creating and forming life and fate, even when I do not always understand the bigger implications and sometimes get grumpy, nervous and impatient !!!

Bccmee and an Addictive Porter-Game

Are you a beard-fan or want to dress John Porter according to one of RA's further roles?
Bccmee now made it possible with her flash-game in her second PortEmber post!

See, what her game did with me ;o)

Unerringly my creations revolve around a certain king of hearts.
In my view he should get more than one horse for his kingdom, he should get a film with lots of horses in it ;o)

Please support the petition for the filming of "King Richard III" and spread the word about the efforts. Thank you !

BCCMEE Has a Big Day Today !

Completely unbelievable, John Porter almost forgetting bccmee's birthday? He must remedy that immediately ;o)

Wouldn't we all want to be taken on a trip by this driver?

Happy Birthday, bccmee!!!

P.S.: bccmee is the fan-artist of the week on KingRichardArmitage. Go to the presentation with fan-art by bccmee here.

1st Bloggiversary

It took me a long time to decide what to write about my first bloggiversary.
At first I thought about writing about why I started the blog and why I maintained it, but this is not really, what interests me about my blog. (I am a boring necessity for the blog, so why write about me ;o)
So lately I came more and more to the idea to collect, what the blog gives me.

First I must add that I did not expect to get any readers, so the start was clearly not made with any intention to write for others to read my stuff. Sorry for that, but I greatly enjoy having readers! Thank you for bearing me and staying with me during my tweaks and turns and struggles!!!!

You will have recognized:

* that I don't care for actual events and the covering of the news. That is for other blogs to do who do it greatly. I am a bit more carefree and take up what I just read or stumble over, which need not be of any current kind, but lately is mostly connected to our 'secret' King of Hearts, King Richard Armitage.

* that you can't really expect news from "The Hobbit" here on my blog. I bear it, as Mr. Armitage is in it and I admire the elaborate video techniques and perfect marketing campaign. If I were born again, I would like to develop camera technic (but then I would most likely have to be born a man to get into such a job and that I would rather not like, as then I most likely would not find the RA-fandom and that would absolutely not be bearable ;o). Who would help me over my (computer) problems then?

* that I have two computers, supporting me in my fandom to Mr. Armitage: one computer is named after a fantasy character I put RA into, Max (Maximilian) and another, Schnuckie with a new by-name "Schnuckie Schlawuckie" (= sorry, an adequate English translation for that name is just beyond me. [Perhaps it is best explained with: Schnuckie is a bit like 'darling', but perhaps a bit more informal than that. Schlawuckie is a tender way to say someone is quite annoying and tricky and most importantly you do not hold a lasting grudge against this person or in my case computer ;o)]

* that I do like RA in most of his roles and avoid others.
The one's I like exceedingly are John Thornton, John Porter, Lucs North (Al Delarmy ;o), John Mulligan (swoon - I surely would end up in prison with a John Mulligan around ;o), I like some of his smaller roles like the free spirited Ricky Deeming and even was surprised that I very much liked him as Percy Courtney in "Miss Mary Lloyd", Captain Ian Macalwain and as unpretentious and nice Claude Monet or as the 'dutiful' husband in "Frozen".
Some other roles are quite entirely missing on my blog and I avoid mentioning them, as they irritate me ;o) [That is the prerogative of 'boring me' ;o)]

So as a sum up, on my blog, I do what I like and don't bother with things I don't ;o)

Now what about a jubilee celebration and why a jubilee is so important for me:

* I want to say thank you to my blog, for what he did for me. (My blog is once again a thing which is, quite necessarily, male for me like my computers, which/who ;o) bring and connect me to RA news and information.)

* I want to say thank you to you, my readers, for supporting me, giving me feedback, support and most of all, your open friendship. THANK YOU!!!!
Thank you also for opening a new world for me during this year of blogging, a world of openness, understanding and encouragement.

* Thank you for your contributions into fandom, fan-art, fan-videos and fan curiosity ;o) Your contributions keep me alive, when once again my computer brakes down or in a chaotic work day things just get completely out of hand and start to be absolutely crazy. Your nice support stops the world from spinning uncontrollably and brings my focus back to the nice and important things which are dear to my heart. Thank you!!!

* Especially I want to thank the one person who is the reason for all this and stands in the centre of this blog: Mr. Richard Armitage. Thank you for giving the wonderful impression of being an exceptional person and for giving inspiration to so many.

Now you really have deserved a treat, for I kept you so long with talking about what is important to me, though I at the beginning had not wanted to speak about 'boring me' ;o)

To celebrate, I want to do this with one of my favourite videos by bccmee, who is our fan-artist of the week on KingRichardArmitage. Please click through her various works, tutorials and fascinating images and videos, some of which are linked in the celebrating articles mentioned on Richard-Fan-Art. (On the Richard-Fan-Art page we try to collect the news and blog articles about Richard Armitage and King Richard III, though the page still has quite some potential for optimisation.)

Bccmee's video "Do you know your enemy?" to music by Green Day impresses me every time. Though in my daily live the enemy normally is not so clearly defined as in the video, still it helps greatly to fight mine ;o)

My blog and this video have one thing in common in this case, as both help me to fight my enemies, in- and outside of me ;o)

Now I need to prepare for a new year of blogging. I promise to come back to "Intrigue". I have such a lot of notes I must sort through to get some things in the right order to continue halfway consistent.

Thank YOU for your help in a wonderful blogging year!

Fandom and Fellow Fans

Fandom

Response to Judiang's request and her post about Fandom (October 19th, 2011)

For some years now I am a fan of Mr. Armitage.

It is not, that I am in any way an experienced fan. Even during my adolescence, I never became a fan to experience, as Judiang so aptly describes it, the "giggly, girlish and silly" sensations of fandom.
I had to be the sensible one, the one to look after my older sister to keep in line during adolescence.

Friedrich von Schiller - Source: Wikimedia.org
The only person, I admired during that time, was Friedrich von Schiller and you will understand, that fandom to him could not easily be described as "giggly, girlish and silly", but rather thoughtful and heavy stuff for an adolescent.
I had a big poster of Friedrich von Schiller hanging over my bed. (Not the one on the right side ;o)
I also was alone with that admiration, so no fellow fans to share this experience with. All my friends and family could not understand, where I had that from ;o)

So my experience with fandom is rather limited, my knowledge about how a fan should behave not really developed. I do not expect anything from my idol - as with Friedrich von Schiller no return action could really be possible. All my fandom consisted of me researching about him, finding out more and admiring his bright concepts of thinking and ideology.
He had quite some influence on how I see the world, religion, politics, observe social behaviour, detect faults and how they could be remedied, how a person should act to better the society. In general he was an integral point in forming my critical abilities.
He was the main reason for choosing the subjects I later studied at university.

When I visited my sister at university, when she just had started studying biology, I recognized, that my approach to examine the world was a completely different one from natural sciences.
When I came to visit her at university, she had a dissected mouse on her table. Not that I swooned, I could stand that at that time. But I felt affronted, that to examine something, you had to destroy the object you wanted to learn from. I felt offended by the for me totally inadequate and stone-age approach to a living creature and research in general.
This confirmed me in my subjects of interest, which research without destroying the object of research, gaining knowledge without destroying the source.

In some way I think, this was a very formative time, also forming the way of approach I have to fandom for Richard Armitage.
I research - in history normally divided from the object of research by time - in fandom by distance to the idol - without trying to destroy, gaining knowledge without hurting, but creating an image, a knowledge, a beautiful ideological concept.
Perhaps I should not add, that my main interest at university were conspiracy theories ;o) Oh, I love a good conspiracy, to explore its foundations, effects, power and influence. This also was centered around Friedrich von Schiller in some way, so I did not really loose him on my way forward.

Source: Armitage-Online.ucoz.ru   Photographer: Joe McGorty
My admiration for Richard Armitage is in lots of ways quite similar to my research approach to Friedrich von Schiller. I never did expect contact or a reaction from him. I even mentioned here once in a comment, that I am quite protective of the concept I built and might even feel the necessity to protect it from the real person.
I know that is ungrateful of me, to suppose I would not like him on closer acquaintance, but I am quite protective of my image of him to be kept pure and intact.
I don't need to know personal stuff. That is his to keep and his to enjoy.

The first year of admiration started absolutely lonely and in secret. I knew some of his films, became interested in him through an interview about Spooks 7 and was irrevocably hooked to come back again and again. I watched fan-videos, avoided everything concerning Guy of Gisbourne meticulously and even had problems connecting him with that role.

I was absolutely content to see my idol from a distance, in film, in interviews, in fan-videos (especially coming from the learning material to do video editing). I knew there were forums about the actor, but I did not really feel intent to discuss him or plunge into learning more. To even be interested in him in such an extent was absolutely new for me. Why did I have to see him and why did he have such a calming effect on me? (I am still not sure about that and why it can keep me hooked so irrevocably, so please do not expect an answer from me here.) It took the discussion concerning videos and especially Servetus' blog, to really draw me into fandom and to discuss my admiration and 'research' with fellow fans. This was the time when I realized, that for the first time I really had developed a complete 'fan'-admiration for someone.

Slowly, I found out more in those blogs, which in consequence drew me into discovering more, about fandom and myself. For a strange reason, the forums and discussion communities never attracted me in the same way, though I registered early on. My first closer discussion and feeling the presence of a community of real people was during the second FanstRAvaganza event this year where I was invited to take part, as I had a fan-blog about Richard Armitage, which I had started in November 2010. The founding of the KingRichardArmitage site was a further main step to connect fandom to reality for me. It was a break through between aspects of my 'real' world and fandom, formerly meticulously kept separate.

Through all the time, fandom still was a rather digital experience for me, as I never met or discussed things with other fans in person. Chats are rather digital for me as well. You do not see the person you 'talk' with, but see your computer screen instead.
Friends even asked me how I could bear to be on the computer for such long times and not feel lonely. (They obviously have not discovered the lovely Armitage fan community online, to ask such a farfetched question ;o)

As I have never met other fans in person, I had no experience with fan-meetings or even the correct behaviour a fan should apply during a meeting.
So you can imagine, that I was utterly nervous last weekend, when all this came to an end and I met 'real' RA-fans. As a kind of recognition sign, I had my RA-bag with me. The funny waiters at the Victorian Tea House in Munich could not even pronounce "Armitage", our reservation name, and were not able to bring our group together, but told everyone who asked, that they had no reservation under that name and accused us that each of us had pronounced the name differently. But that is very unlikely. What real RA fan does not know how to pronounce his name ;o)
So it was a good thing to having had my bag with me to find our group.
The experience to meet people with similar interests, taste, knowledge and the same watched films as background, gave us an immediate topic to talk about, though most of us never had met before.
It was such a homogenous, friendly group, that I - normally a bit reserved and though friendly, sometimes a bit quiet in company and normally a better listener than talker - felt completely at ease in the group and felt as if I met with old friends.
I loved the meeting and now hope we can soon repeat the meeting in the Bavarian fan-group !!!

I am thinking now about all my fears beforehand with a smile. It was such an absolutely lovely experience to meet fellow RA-fans, that I can only recommend that ;o)

( I don't think we Bavarians are the only friendly exception, but the lovely rule of RA-fans ;o)

As I did not check with my fellow fans, I do not name them even with their fan-identity. Please understand that. I am always of the opinion, each fan has the freedom to reveal as much about herself as she likes and feels comfortable with. That I bubble about this lovely experience, does not mean everybody else attending the meeting needs to do the same ;o)

< < This article came into life because of a request from Judiang. She wrote, that surely I would write about this fan-experience and though that idea had not occurred to me before, when I came to think about it, it really made sense to me and is something to encourage other fans to meet as well. Also after just loosing a dear friend, it also became more of a conviction for me, to live friendships while we can. > >

In Memory of a Wonderful Historian and Friend !

Words don't make sense at the moment and could not do this wonderful friend justice. So I want to remember her with a song. The one I originally wanted, would have been more consoling, but is no longer available. This one in contrast very much represents our non-understanding and arguing with God about our given fate. It is more of a reminder of all the possibilities we have and the few we take:

In memory of a wonderful friend, who made the world a better place to live in.

I Sympathise with Guy - Unlucky Guy (Traxy)

When I heard the song, wonderfully recorded, texted and sung by Traxy, I immediately felt sympathy for Guy of Gisborne. This year I feel like I can meet his good luck ;o)

Would you believe, that I would urgently need a function in my shopping software exactly at that moment, when it just has been replaced three weeks ago in the latest update? What luck does it need to just miss the opportunity to make easy adjustments instead of miles and miles of work-arounds by a hair's breadths?
This year was a complete chaos, because every planning just turned out for naught. Every effort just smilingly exploded in my face.

Funny and absolutely chaotic year 2011. I just wonder why I still bother with planning at all. Fate just leads me around on a total spiraling chaotic route.

Good to have my steadying influence of fandom ;o)

Don't forget - It's already

half-time for the Richard Fan-Art Event 2011

The first contributions are already coming in and are pure joy. I am looking forward to present the artists to you ;o)

Don't hesitate any longer, get your pen and scissors out and take part for our King Richard Armitage !

A Defender Like Lucas North ...

With someone on your side like Lucas North, who so effectively could solve your problems, life really seems an adventure.

Bccmee in one of her latest October-gif's brought this to the surface so well:

Do you think one moment about the poor guy getting hit? It took me a while to find out, that I never thought about him. Lucas North totally caught my attention ;o)

So now, with Bccmee's gif, Lucas smuggled himself nicely back into my dreams, to defend me in my not so pleasant, filled with technical details and rather chaotic nightmares.
That gave me the idea, that in real life Lucas would really not bear my enemies for long and it would be a swift and graceful process to solve the problem, one punch and the opponent just flies away.

Fortunately, my indirect enemies are on the other side of the world and so, as long as they do not get the ludicrous idea to get closer to me, are in quite a safe distance.
This way, I can keep my usually quite peaceful attitude towards the world. Lucas North is the only outlet I allow my aggressions ;o) so don't fear, I will not punch my opponents into their noses, however well deserving they might be.

[Sorry I can't speak too much about the problem itself, as it would reveal too much about real me. At the moment we have enough to do to check legal possibilities and closing down all security systems, as both private and business internet connections have been under attack and tried to hack at the same suspiciously convenient time. What criminal potential people develop, when they think they can gain advantage and earn the merits of another person's work. How sad that is and my sense of justice runs wild to fight for the suppressed and unjustly accused. - That is the reason why I would not be a good lawyer, as lots of people suggested to be an ideal profession for me, because I would fight for what I think is right and not for profit. I would not survive that for long ;o)]

Musings About Court and the High Sea ...

Libra (15th Century) - Source: Wikimedia.org
You will know the expression "in court and on the high sea you are in God's hands". I would only lightly disagree, as in my opinion, we always are, but especially and very obviously in those situations. Though the saying more implies that you cannot predict the outcome of your situation (but when can we ever?).
I have a very strong believe in justice and am fiercely fighting, for what I feel is right. I even punish myself, if I think I do not deserve something, e.g. a nice word or praise, which I think I did not earn.

What in contrast I entirely do not have, is a believe in the justness of our legal systems or the world in general. I do not give them credit to either better things or even be able to make things right.

So I am quite weary in being in a legal situation right now, fortunately only taking a side role, though an important one.

It makes it hard for me to concentrate on writing my intended story "Intrigue" or to write blog posts about something else, not revealing the in my opinion completely unjust accusations, hindering my business.

What makes things even worse for me is, that not only one legal system is concerned, but two in which both I set no great confidence. Both are prone to support either the rich or the outcast, but neither does defend the hard working, honest people.

But how apt to get into a legal conflict during the astrological sign of the Libra. Hopefully it predicts a well evaluated and just outcome. - You see, I don't say I want to win, as justice for me would imply that anyway ;o)
But as justice must be bought, I am not sure we can afford to go as long as we need to get justice.

A Thank You to His Fans ...

-- WARNING ! Real message of support ! --

Richard Armitage sent a Birthday message on 25th of August, 2011 to thank his fans for all the presents, work and efforts they undertook for his 40th birthday.

What better way, than to publish this message at the ending of our 'birthday-present, the King Richard Week in support of Mr. Armitage's "Richard III" filming project.
(If I could figure out how to link to the message, I would only put a link here, but as I can't, here follows the full text of the message, published on RichardArmitageOnline.com):

Dear Friends,

I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you for all the kind gifts which have been sent to me over the last few weeks, for my birthday; so many gifts, cards and emails of good wishes from all over the world. (Poland, Ukraine, Japan, Russia, Germany, Korea, Itlay, USA, Canada, Netherlands and all over the UK)

I will be so 'well read', drunk, fat, warm and sweet smelling thanks to your generosity.

I am particularly excited to let you know that the "Just Giving" donations to our four charities has reached an amazing £11,933! In addition to donations to Oxfam and Christchurch Earthquake appeal, which I find both thoughtful and moving.

I am afraid there may be some delay in remitting thank you letters and any requests for signing photos, as I am in New Zealand for the rest of the year, but am working on a system to remedy this.

So middle age has arrived and apparently 'life now begins'. I look forward to the next chapter, there is nowhere I would rather be at this moment than exploring "Middle Earth" with my new family of Dwarves, Elves, Men, Wizard and Hobbit. What a gift to be here, in this place, at this time. I can't wait to share it with everyone. I am a very fortunate man.

Much love
RA

Good things must end, but not for us. The KingRichardArmitage website continues and some posts planned for the week are still on their way to come in. As always, pre-planning is good, life is different, so not all our plans for the week worked as planned. Personal reasons, illnesses and family obligations interfered.

We, the openly visible contributors and the silent one's not able to contribute during the week, hope, you have enjoyed the week and will follow the articles still to come. Updates will remain to be published on the KingRichardWeek 2011 - page.

King Richard Week - Was Richard III a Villain or a Saint? Judge for yourself ...

-- WARNING ! Heavy Historical Content ! Be Warned ! --

The Trial of King Richard III

Not all research results remain true till in our days or in some points new evidence has been added by researchers, but still this court of justice is an extensive presentation of material, research and a very British way to cope with the possible guilt of a long dead English king.

Introduction by Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester, the successor in the position, King Richard III held before ascending to the throne of England. A modern trial is held at the Old Bailey in London, discussing and passing sentence. All accusations against King Richard III are brought to the light and dissected and examined in detail. (21st February, 1984)

I will not reveal the verdict, as I do not want to spoil the ending for you.

(The embedded video shows the first part. The following parts will appear or even will continue to play automatically, as they are connected in a playlist created by valentinejay.)

The following film sequences cannot be embedded, therefore I place the links to the YouTube videos here:

King Richard III (1452 - 1485) - Channel Five "Kings and Queens" Episode 5

The presentation is a bit sensational because, as Shakespeare showed us, a mysterious bad king sells better to the masses than a good one.

King Richard Armitage - The Event Week begins

The KingRichardArmitage website has KING RICHARD WEEK

As I am greatly involved with the KingRichardArmitage page, my blog suffers currently from neglect.

But for those of you interested in King Richard III and his connection to Richard Armitage, give the event a try and read the stories which vary from historical topics to fan-funny ;o)

For those interested in history and the background of King Richard III, I will post material here, which presents the whole topic in a lighthearted way. Heavily historical content will be posted with a special warning ;o)
I hope that is fair to you fellow Richard Armitage fans ;o)

For those of you absolutely not interested in King Richard III, not even the 'funny stuff' about him, please skip this weeks posts. I will come back to our "Intrigue" again afterwards, though after all the work and night shifts at the computer lately, I urgently need some rest and hopefully will get some HOLIDAYs soon.

Concerning the announced Donation for signatures of the Richard III-petition till the 22nd of August, 2011:
The number of online signatures is in and, including unconfirmed signatures, amounts to:
€ 14,40
As we expect further signatures, which having been collected at signings at the weekend, the final amount is still unclear and will be announced in the end post of the King Richard Week on the website on 28th of August, 2011.

As the donor is doing honorary work for the U.K. where especially children are profiting, he decided, to be fair and split his donations between the Salvation Army and the Shelter. (He will add a further donation to the reached amount.)

I hope you will enjoy the contributions about King Richard III!

Birthday Celebrations in London

This Birthday video made for Richard Armitage, was originally created for the birthday one year ago, but what better way to celebrate him, now far away from his hometown, with impressions from London and with lots of fireworks ;o)

Happy Birthday, Mr. Armitage!!!

I hope, Richard Armitage finds a quiet and nice place to celebrate his birthday and does not have to run from his fans ;o)
I also wish that he gets an immense birthday cake (not only a digital one) which he can enjoy at leisure:

and has time to discover all the diverse birthday presents, fan-book (by Calexora), collected greetings (e.g. from RichardArmitageNet.com) and our 'digital' one:

We Have a Donor for the Richard III-Petition - Please Sign Now !!!

Each Signature Counts Double!

We have an 'anonymous' donor who will pay € 0,10 (about US$ 0,14; Donor is from Europe) for one of RA's charitable causes (or divided among them, depending on the final amount) for each signature to the petition made till Mr. Armitage's birthday on August 22nd, 2011!

So if you have uncles, aunts, sisters, brothers, cousins, second cousins, mere acquaintances you can mobilize, do so now and make them sign the petition !!!

Go to the petition here:

I am still among the living ...

I know you will say, now that I have met Al Delarmy in Hamburg, I am not likely to share the spicy details with you.
But you are far from the truth!

Al is back in his story, feverishly preparing the plot and I must admit, another guy had my whole attention lately.
This guy:

King Richard Armitage

Compared to a King, Al Delarmy had to move to second place and must wait for a bit longer. Al holds a big chunk of my heart, so he is not forgotten and "Intrigue" will continue. ;o)

But now that it is August, as Servetus so aptly calls it "Happy Birthday month Richard Armitage", my work goes into supporting Richard Armitage and his project "Richard III".
If you have not signed the petition, please give your heart a slight push and do so now. From the feedback we got so far we can tell that our help with the petition is much appreciated!!!
(You can directly reach the petition by clicking on one of the pictures in this post.)

Al Delarmy and I had an Argument ...

I feel very bad that I keep you waiting for the further parts of the story of "Intrigue".

But Al Delarmy (alias Lucas North / John Bateman / etc.) and I had an argument last night.
(Yes, indeed, I met him and he is as devastating as Richard Armitage. So I stood no real chance in our argument ;o)

He told me, how I possibly could presume he wanted my boring and neatly planned story, when he already evaded and had successfully outplayed Harry Pierce. He really wants to set the world afire and not just some tiny firework.

I grumbled a bit, but after all Al Delarmy is right. He has the final say in his story!  Who am I to argue with him, if he wants to go on a bit longer than I originally intended.

He argued with me, that I planned everything much too neatly for the real world. And where he is right he is ... well, right and unfortunately much too adorable to negate him anything.

Now some adjustments are necessary in my story to really tell his story as he wants it to be. I hope the coming surprises will be good one's and you will enjoy the continuing story line!

Do you, when you write, also have problems with your characters insisting on getting their own stories and not wanting the one's you intended for them?
Al Delarmy certainly mixed up my plans and created his own story, but what else could I expect from such an excellent spy?
So now I give over the lead to him and let him tell his own adventures.

Please let me know, if you have fights with your fictitious characters as well ;o)
I would really love to hear your stories !

Emergency ...

For three years I have been working day and night to get one project up and running. My heart-blood flows through this project, but everything I did try for the past two years resulted in nothing.
But now, when I have to put my work in two new projects which I started to get myself off the ground, this first project gets some life and wants my full attention.

With my heart hanging so much on this project, my dear creation, can I really say no?

And do you know, when the big day of the major announcement for this project is planned to be?
For RA-followers it is not really hard to guess, but you won't believe it:

The 22nd of August 2011

Is this pure coincidence or does it have some greater meaning?

But now I end up with three projects fighting for my attention and trying to tear me apart. (Fan-projects not even counted ;o)
Tomorrow also is a big day for me. I have to leave my observer and commentator position and have to get in front of a camera, eventually even for a video. Please keep your fingers crossed that I do not act like a butterfly on a pin. I fear it so much.

I have not forgotten about INTRIGUE

I will try to continue and rescue Al from his 'dubious' role in Hamburg, but at the moment I cannot promise a clear schedule how I will be able to proceed. I will do my best to make it worth your while to continue following Mr. Delarmy.

Thank you!

Important Event to Break the Post Routine

Today is the 4th of July and I wish all American readers a wonderful and enjoyable Independence Day !!!

But this is not the reason, why today, I do not continue with the story "Intrigue" as I had initially planned.
Today, one of the few living persons I greatly admired died.
He was a well read, knowledgeable, understanding, gentle and intelligent man as I have never met another.
He as great politician visited a small village of about 3.000 citizens and when asked why he did feel that was worth his while he answered:
"There is no part in a Europe of equal regions not worth my attention to my best ability. I am no greater than anybody else."
All those years back, my parents did not accompany me to his event in our little village, as they could not believe he would really appear. But he did and what great impact he had on my believe in learning, self-control, the duty of serving others and being humble.
Perhaps it is a sign that he died on Independence Day, as he had a great independence in his way of thinking.

Otto von Habsburg, the world is a lesser place without you.

CDoart Pre-occupied ... with Richard Armitage

I should do a mountain of work for my little business, but can't get my head off the RA-Birthday topic.

The virus of this heavily contagious influenza really caught me.
This is also the reason, why I could not get my next "Intrigue" part out in time. Sorry!
It is ready, but I did not manage to get it into the computer. I am working to make up for it!!!

And now the reason why:

I have been busily working with Darlingdarling, to set up a website with a blog to centrally collect all the fan-support for Richard Armitage's "Richard III" project.
The first draft of the page with the petition for Richard III. can be found here:
KingRichardArmitage

Please give the page and petition your support, please participate and make the collective effort public.
An important information is, the signatures collected remain private and the mail-addresses will not be used in any way to spam you with advertisements. They are kept securely and will only be handed over, if Richard Armitage or his certified agent wish to use them in a way to further his cause with film investors, producers, etc.
Darlingdarling and I will keep you updated on the number of signatures collected.

Please also support Calexora with her wonderful idea for a fan-book for Richard Armitage's 40. Birthday. She collects, designs and organises it so admirably and I must add is very patient and helpful (!!! Thank you !!!).
She agreed to let me and Darlingdarling announce the petition-effort to Richard Armitage in our Birthday messages.
What great heart and understanding for shy fans Calexora has ;o)

Her collective viewing and discussion of "North & South" will begin tomorrow, Wednesday 29th of June, 2011.

Darlingdarling and I will do our best to integrate fan-wishes, ideas and suggestions into the King Richard Armitage page to make it a mirror of the community effort this support for Richard Armitage and his film-project "Richard III." really is.

Thank you !

100. Post - Celebrations !!!

The 100. Post

I cannot really believe it myself. What did I always talk about?
Oh, one person and one person only ;o)
That must really be an exceptional person to write 100 blog posts about, considdering I do not even know him.
I am not even the only blogger writing about this person.
There are lots of wonderful blogs, communities, forums, tweets, facebook fan pages, etc. out there, all for this one person.
(I do not even want to start a list here, as this post likely would never come to an end ;o)

That person really must be a miracle, and yes, in my opinion he is:

Richard Armitage

Source: www.Armitage-Online.ucoz.ru

At first I wanted to include Champagne and glasses to celebrate, but is there a better way to celebrate than with a picture of Richard Armitage himself?
He is much more dangerous and headier than Champagne...

Intrigue - Part 3.3: No Lucas With Ruth

By reading any further, you state, that you are at least 18 years old.

The following content contains violence and situations, which might be offensive for some readers.
So be warned and do not read on, if James Bond like situations do not appeal to you.

After once again a sleepless night filled with restless pictures from his past and the begging face of Lucas, Harry in the morning went to the door of his house to pick up the morning mail.

One letter caught his attention, lying directly on top of the rest of the letters. It was without stamp and address. Someone must have brought it just moments before, as he had heard the mail arrive just about ten minutes ago, while he had brewed his coffee.

When he took it up together with the rest of the mail, he felt some kind of hard object in it through the heavy white paper of the envelope. He rushed to the door and looked out, if he could determine someone leaving from his house. But no one was there.

When he closed the door behind him, he put down the newspaper and some further letters and advertisements on a side-table. He was too impatient to search for a letter opener or even to go into the kitchen to find a knife to open the letter and tore it open with his fingers.

A card fell out. Not any card, but his security card for Mi-5. Utterly alarmed, he went around the house and searched for signs of a break in, but could detect nothing unusual. He went to where he had placed the card last night together with his wallet and there the card lay as he had left it, the card he had brought back home yesterday. When he took it up, he could clearly read the name imprinted on it: Beth Bailey.

Had she recognized that they had mixed their cards and wanted to give back his card? But why not come in. She would not have any means to get back into MI-5 now without any card.

And then sudden realization washed over him. Beth did not want to get back into MI-5. She must have gotten all the information she wanted, when she now openly announced having had his card.

It was very unlikely that he would see her again.

Beth now was one more of his many failures. He should not have listened to Lucas to let her remain on the grid after her betrayal. But remorse came too late now. He searched his brain to dermine, when the card-swap could have taken place. They had had coffee yesterday, or had the swap been earlier? He could not be certain. He had been much too distracted since he had discovered that Lucas was still alive.

Did Beth work for Lucas all along? Did they have any personal connection? What was the goal of them? He knew they had not had any previous connection, as he knew Beth’s back-story. At least here he was sure that whatever went on between the two of them had started after their first adventure on that cargo-ship.

Harry was disturbed in his thoughts by the insistent ringing of his telephone. James Bennett, a colleague from MI-6, called. They would make all the inquiries and researches into his former cases. His presence at MI-5 was not required. When Harry still offered to come in, he repeated: “Your presence is not required and not wanted. So stay at home and enjoy your time.”

Harry harrumphed. Enjoying one’s day when the whole MI-6 was trying to find something incriminating in his past was not very likely. How could he enjoy his time under those circumstances?

Harry let it go and hung up the phone. He would need neither Beth’s nor his own card to re-enter the MI-5 building. Though, involuntarily or voluntarily, Beth had given him an opportunity to still get access, in case he wanted to, by leaving him her own card. At least for a short while, till they would recognize that she was missing and would cancel her access permission, as they surely had already done with his.

He would use the spare time he now had, to look through the files Lucas had had access to. He had not been able to concentrate on them, though he had tried several times during his sleepless night.

Harry filled his cup with fresh coffee and started to go through the files on his computer. He wanted to determine a pattern or a topic which might have been of interest to Lucas. But he could not make out anything. There were files about politicians, companies, numerous bank files. But the contacts were splattered all over the political scale, contained different economic branches and the contacts even were spread all over the world. Petro-chemical industry, machine manufacturers, farming conglomerates, biological laboratories, bankers, IT- and security companies, hotel chains, small and big companies, all kinds of companies were involved. The persons appearing in the files were as hard to get into one line as the companies were.

Suddenly one file popped up, which he knew well. The Nightingale file Ruth had prepared to detect the involvement of the former home secretary.

Lucas had known about that? That was not good. Harry had intentionally kept that information from him. Besides Ruth no one else knew about the real circumstances around the home secretary’s death and especially about his involvement in it. And now - Lucas must have figured out the happenings. No wonder Lucas had not trusted him enough to tell him about his own intentions, when he in return had not revealed such an important incident happening during Lucas’ promotion to become section chief.

He thought about Ros. Would he have trusted her in a similar situation? He was quite sure he would have. But with Lucas ...? Their friendship and trustful working together from before Lucas’ imprisonment in Russia just never had been re-established after his return.

Lucas had changed. He had become a grim, efficient machine, not the fun-loving, joking colleague any longer, he had been before Russia. Not that Lucas had been not effective and hard working before, but the easy going smile, always so ready to be on his face, was missing since his experiences in Russia.

He should have talked to him, really talked to him amongst friends, offered him an open ear to listen to what he had to tell about his past.

Now it was too late to feel remorse. He would have to find out, what had lead to Lucas’ behaviour all on his own now.

Harry turned back to the files on his computer.

From the files Harry opened, one thing was clear to him. As randomly assorted as they looked, they all had one thing in common. They were extremely important for world economy, so for some reason or other they were well chosen to get specific information. There was nothing accidental in their selection as he first had thought. He had even the impression Lucas in a way wanted him to see what he had researched.

He at first had thought Lucas had chosen some needed files and selected others around them to distract from the original purpose, as he had done last evening. But the one thing that connected all files was, they had importance for world economy and had the potential to destroy governments, not only single one’s, but around the whole world, without exception.

Lucas must have had some intentions with those files, but whatever they were, Harry had no idea.

He no longer believed Lucas had escaped to settle down somewhere in a hidden and peaceful spot in the world with all that money he had got from the Chinese. He more and more got the impression that Lucas was out there to settle some unfinished business and the impact of his actions would be recognizable around the world. Harry just had no idea what business that was and where to get hold of Lucas.

Harry worked all day on the files, but did not get any further in his research. He also had been right; Lucas had had access to all necessary information to find out the truth about Albany. Lucas had known all along that he handed over useless material to the Chinese. But still he had played the game and had lead Vaughan on.

Vaughan – perhaps he should go and look at the files from that angle? What connection did Vaughan have to Lucas and why did Lucas let him believe he played along with his blackmailing attempt? Had Lucas only wanted the money from the Chinese? Or had he wanted the money to now use it for his own purpose?

Harry at least had the impression that he had gotten somewhere, though he still had no idea where all those hints were leading.

When the doorbell rang, he was interrupted in his musings. He went to the door and, as he had expected, Ruth stood in front of him.

“Is it already that late?” he asked. He recognized that it was already dark outside.

Ruth looked at him and saw his dishevelled state. “Late? Late for what?”

“Oh, late for lunch.”

“Yes, most definitely. It is after 7 p.m. If you did not even have lunch so far, you should really get something to eat.”

With those words she took up a large bag standing behind her and smiled at him.

“The print-outs and ... I chose Chinese for this special occasion.”

Harry let her in and the fine smell of the Chinese dishes filled the air.

“You accept then?” he asked, still not quite believing and observing Ruth doubtfully.

Ruth went into the kitchen, put the dishes out from the bag and handed him the immense bag, still quite full with loads of files and papers.

“Yes, this time.”

Harry wanted to embrace her, but she turned to get some bowls out from his cupboards, preparing the meal with a bright smile on her face. She laid out the plates, while Harry went to light the candle. He opened a bottle of wine after consulting with her, which one she preferred.

When they settled down to start their meal, Ruth pushed a small package over to him.
“You should give it to me properly, Harry.”

“Why did you change your mind, Ruth?” Harry asked her, not answering to her request or taking up the package immediately.

Ruth gave him a half sad smile. “You know, a dead man told me, to take what is on offer and grab my chance for happiness. And though he might have been wrong in other aspects, Lucas was right in this one.”

“Lucas changed your mind?” Harry asked surprised.

“Yes, in a way he did. He did not change my feelings for you. They were there beforehand, so obvious for him to easily see. But he gave me back my belief that I deserved a bit of happiness. I think when I left for Greece those years back, I manifested in my head, that happiness was something I would not deserve to get and would have to sacrifice my feelings for the happiness of others. – Lucas taught me, that I deserved a bit for myself, because otherwise all world would trample over me, use me as pawn and not even be a bit better or happier about it.”

“Thank you, my dear”, Harry whispered reverently.

Harry silently took up her hand and slid a ring over her finger, taking up her hand and gently pressing a kiss on the back of her hand.

When Harry looked up and into Ruth’s eyes, all thought about food was totally forgotten for a long while.

After their meal, they mostly shared silently, sinking deeply into each other’s eyes, and kissing in between, they took up their wine glasses and settled in Harry’s living room.

There together on the couch, he held Ruth’s hand and slowly started:
“Not a dead man changed your mind, Ruth.”

When Ruth looked up startled about his words, Harry hurriedly continued:
“..., but a very alive one. Lucas North is not dead, or at least the man we know as Lucas North or John Bateman, or him, you know, Lucas...”

Harry was a bit embarrassed about his stammering.

“He did not kill himself?” Ruth asked, still not fully believing, what Harry just had told her.
“How did you find out?”

“The lab tests. Lucas must have prepared the dead man’s body to replace him, to leave him enough time to get away safely.”

“What a clever boy. Lucas, Lucas, ...” Ruth wondered. “He really played us.”
After a while, Ruth added: “Who else knows? I did not hear of a search for him in the office today.”

“Nobody knows, except Henley. And he will keep it to himself. All documentation is sealed. The cremation already was done today and the ceremony will be next week. There will be no sign of the truth to detect any longer.”

“Why did you keep silent about it? Wouldn’t it be better to hunt him down and eliminate him to prevent him to causing more trouble?”

“No, I don’t think he is out to cause trouble, or at least I think he has bigger goals than just to pose trouble. – I want to find out more about his motives and intentions. This is the reason why I sent you the DVD-ROM with all those files on it.”

“Then you do trust Lucas, don’t you?”

“I am not sure. He so intensely asked for my help. I don’t know what to make of him. At least I want to find out, what is the truth about him. If the news was out that he is still alive, all the world’s agents would try to hunt him down and there would be no way to interrogate him or even get him alive. No, it is better that everyone believes he is dead.”

Ruth nodded in full agreement.

“He was so caring, even friendly during my abduction, even trying to make me feel comfortable. It is hard to make him out. – You are absolutely right, we have to give him time and in the meantime find out more about his motives on our own. I have printed out most of the files. So far, I could not make out a pattern or connection between them.”

Ruth put the pile of paper on the living-room table and showed them to Harry.

“Oh, I have to tell you about what happened on the grid today. Beth is ill. She called in today and excused herself. Dimitri will be transferred to MI-6 and already got his go to join another department there. He will not come back to your department, even if the investigations go in your favour. Tariq remains there to help the research team of the MI-6 to get access to all files and as we expected, you and I are out, on temporary holiday, as they so friendly called it today. I will not have to go back there tomorrow.”

Harry acknowledged this by saluting to Ruth with his wineglass.
“That leaves us enough time for our own plans, even if we cannot leave the country for our honeymoon. Where do you want to spend it, by the way?”

He smiled at Ruth and gently took her into his arms for a warm and happy kiss, which Ruth gladly returned.
