At the Heart of ... Everything

You will wonder (or not) what became of me, keeping silent on my blog for so long.
After all the time, I had intended to do a nice little RA post over the long weekend, which I intended to spend relaxed and lazy at home together with my parents.
But if I tell you what I do most of the time, since the end of last year and far beyond, you won't ask for long and won't wonder what I spend my time with.

Last year, after all the computer break downs I told you about (and lots I did not tell you about and just struggled through), I finally bought a new computer.
Happy me ;o)
Now, you would think, my problems would finally have ended.
No, they didn't, far from it.

The new computer breaks down on a regular basis,
and after a repair, destroyling many of my so far unsaved work and mails, I was close to going crazy.
To keep my files safe, I had bought a small server together with the computer. When I was finally ready to start working with it (a month after the purchase), it had given up cooperation, so I had to send it in for repair (and so my files had not been saved when needed),
and don't even get me started on my telephone services. I could strangle the customer service person and avoid going close to the service center in case I really might do it. I certainly hate the new telephone I had to purchase because of their mistake(s) and stupidity.

But now, off to a relaxed long weekend ...

I get home to my parents. Finally far from my own internet and telephone line, only my notebook, still crashing on a regular basis, with me. But after a while one gets used to everything, so no worry on my mind.

First day, coming home. - Everything is fine. I fall into bed, so safe distance from any computers ;o)

Second day - The computers and phone lines seem not to have recognised yet, that I am home. Everything works fine ;o)

Third day - The computers seem to know I am home. No internet, not even a mini tiny little bit, and I had not even touched the line. ;o(

So, back to my daily business. Calling the hotline.
It is a Saturday. Usual tests from the hotline reveal nothing. (Why am I surprised? My computer problems never are the simple stuff.) So it has to go to the main technical staff, but they only work for a few hours longer and not on Sundays. If no feedback comes till the end of the day, my parents and I will have to wait till Monday.
Of course, there is no feedback. Why should there be a solution for me, when I am close to the computers and internet line of my parents?

So now, back at my 'working-home' and with working computers around me, another main central computer is a bit bumpy. At least my date with the doctor is a bit further delayed, as I did not get an appointment yet. Perhaps early next month ...
At the moment I just think it might be a side effect of acute hay-fever, as my doctor had warned me might happen years ago.

But I must not delay, I must use the opportunity as long as everything is halfway working and must finish this post!

How glad was I, to find a cute RA, to console me. Kermit and RA ;o)
Kermit for me is strongly rooted in a time, where no computer was even close to my home or even remotely related to my work. So Kermit is an excellent respite ;o)

(I am not, as some seem to be, envious of Kermit. I would rather like to bring a smile to RA's face ;o) [You know I am too shy to fully confess how ;o) But Miss Piggi need not be envious of me, nor you.])

I wish you working computers and hearts and ..., just that everything is fine !

Happy Thanksgiving

I can hardly top last years Thanksgiving-post, when it comes to my favourite picture of RA.

So I will link to that post and wish you all a happy and joyous Thanksgiving !!!

My own thanks this day go to my computers and websites. I thank them for all the problems they made and all the havoc they caused.
You will say, now CDoart completely went cRAzy ;o) and in quite some aspects you might be right, but if (I won't and can't share the details) you would know, what ill fate I evaded by not getting my will and being able to finish my work in the planned timeframe, I only can thank the almighty powers, ruling the universe and my fate, for their lenience.
How can such bad events turn out to be the best thing which possibly could have happened? But they were exactly that, with unerring accurateness and attention to even the minor details.
I hope I will be worthy of the effort and will be able to defend and spread the knowledge which was so gracefully saved.

Thank you, for creating and forming life and fate, even when I do not always understand the bigger implications and sometimes get grumpy, nervous and impatient !!!

A Defender Like Lucas North ...

With someone on your side like Lucas North, who so effectively could solve your problems, life really seems an adventure.

Bccmee in one of her latest October-gif's brought this to the surface so well:

Do you think one moment about the poor guy getting hit? It took me a while to find out, that I never thought about him. Lucas North totally caught my attention ;o)

So now, with Bccmee's gif, Lucas smuggled himself nicely back into my dreams, to defend me in my not so pleasant, filled with technical details and rather chaotic nightmares.
That gave me the idea, that in real life Lucas would really not bear my enemies for long and it would be a swift and graceful process to solve the problem, one punch and the opponent just flies away.

Fortunately, my indirect enemies are on the other side of the world and so, as long as they do not get the ludicrous idea to get closer to me, are in quite a safe distance.
This way, I can keep my usually quite peaceful attitude towards the world. Lucas North is the only outlet I allow my aggressions ;o) so don't fear, I will not punch my opponents into their noses, however well deserving they might be.

[Sorry I can't speak too much about the problem itself, as it would reveal too much about real me. At the moment we have enough to do to check legal possibilities and closing down all security systems, as both private and business internet connections have been under attack and tried to hack at the same suspiciously convenient time. What criminal potential people develop, when they think they can gain advantage and earn the merits of another person's work. How sad that is and my sense of justice runs wild to fight for the suppressed and unjustly accused. - That is the reason why I would not be a good lawyer, as lots of people suggested to be an ideal profession for me, because I would fight for what I think is right and not for profit. I would not survive that for long ;o)]

My Hands are Bound (Short Blogging Break)

Dear followers, dear readers, dear friends,

Picture kindly provided by RichardArmitageNet.com

The computer problems caused so much trouble, though fortunately I did not lose any of my files, that I keep working all day long (and most of the nights).
To manage my participation at the FanstRAvaganza 2011, I have to take a break from blogging and will start blogging more regularly again after the event.
I already have some ideas for posts and notes for a nice Spooks9-sequel, which I will start after FanstRAvaganza. I hope you will like it and keep on following me.

All the best to you and till soon!

Yours,
CDoart

Murphy's Law and Computers

The first question I posed to myself, when my working computer crashed the first time was:
Are computers generally male?
In German they obviously are, as they all get the male article, but are they typically behaving in a male way?

With my comparison to fandom I came to the resolution, that at least for me a comparison between computers and men is justified.

But when my working computer, freshly repaired and all its interiors (electricity supply unit and motherboard) new, made lots of problems and finally crashed again, the obvious comparison was not so very favourable any more and I started to doubt if I was not a little bit unfair to compare men to computers. Especially when computers were so prone to work under the premise of "Murphy's Law".

Because my final result was:
You can care for them, do all they want and need and STILL they abandon you when you need them most.

I leave it up to you, if this is still comparable to male behaviour, but it certainly describes the late behaviour of my computers.

[You will have recognized, that I left out a certain male person of this comparison, as it is utterly unfair, after he gave lovely input for his fans again. Now even I, the absolute Hobbit-doubter, am convinced, that Richard Armitage will be a brilliant Thorin Oakenshield. I can even see, which role he will play in the funny and unruly group of dwarves and am looking forward to see him enact this 'leader of the dwarves'.]

Blogger Sphere and Computer Break Down

Before I go on with my blog, I have to explain certain things ahead of time, before my next articles begin. My next few articles will not fit into the normal routine as they will refer to other blogger's articles.
While suffering from computer breakdowns, a full load of work crashed over my head, so I missed a lot of wonderful articles by other bloggers.
I have still not overcome all the left over work, but slowly cover ground also in fan-sphere and read some of the past articles. But to not bother the wonderful bloggers with belated comments long after the original discussions ended, I try to follow some of my ideas while reading their articles in blog posts here.
I promise it will not be long, before I come back to original topics again. I already have a few in mind waiting to forcefully break out of my head.
